Are Math-U-See Manipulatives Non-Toxic?

Yes, plastic Math-U-See manipulatives are non-toxic. Our manufacturer certifies that its Polifil® products, including the blocks, do not contain heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium.

The supplier of the polypropylene and calcium carbonate used in the blocks confirms that these components do not intentionally contain lead or lead compounds.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the blocks also indicates that they are not classified as hazardous by OSHA.
