What do I need to use Math-U-See?
For a successful, complete Math-U-See Curriculum level, you will need:
- An Instruction Manual (written lesson instructions and solutions)
- Access to instructional video lessons — available on DVDs and in the Digital Pack
- Student Workbook (consumable workbook)
- Test booklet (consumable test booklet, for all levels except Primer)
- Manipulatives (for levels Primer through Algebra 1: Legacy Edition)
We offer customers convenient sets:
Universal Set
Our Universal Sets include all items needed to complete a specific level. The Universal Set is ideal for families that have not used the Math-U-See Curriculum previously or are purchasing Epsilon or any levels from Geometry through PreCalculus.
(Available for levels Primer through PreCalculus)
Universal Sets include:
- Instruction Manual
- Instructional DVDs
- Digital Pack
- Student Workbook
- Tests booklet (for all levels except for Primer)
- Manipulatives
Level Up Set
A Level Up was created for those that already have the Integer Block Kit. For Epsilon, the Level Up Set is for those that already have the Fraction Overlay Kit.
(Available for levels Primer through Delta, and Zeta through Algebra 1: Legacy)
Level Up Sets include:
- Instruction Manual
- Instructional DVDs
- Digital Pack
- Student Workbook
- Tests booklet (for all levels except for Primer)
- Algebra/Decimal Insert Kit (in levels Zeta, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1: Legacy)
Example 1: Last year, you started using the Math-U-See Curriculum and purchased a Beta Universal Set. Your student has now completed Beta and is ready to move into Gamma. You have the Integer Block Kit from your Beta Universal Set. A Gamma Level Up Set would provide you with the materials needed to complete Gamma.
Example 2: You’ve been using the Math-U-See Curriculum for a few levels. You initially purchased a Delta Universal Set and have moved through the levels Delta and Epsilon. Your student is now ready for Zeta. A Zeta Level Up Set would provide you with the materials needed to complete the Zeta level.
Level Up Base Set
For customers who already have the Integer Block Kit and the Algebra/Decimal Insert Kit.
(Available for levels Zeta, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1: Legacy)
Level Up Base Sets include:
- Instruction Manual
- Instructional DVDs
- Digital Pack
- Student Workbook
- Tests booklet (for all levels except for Primer)
Instructor Pack
For customers who already have the manipulatives and student materials.
Instructor Packs include:
- Instruction Manual
- Instructional DVDs
*The Instructor Pack does not include the level’s Digital Pack
Student Pack
For customers who already have the Instruction Manual, DVDs and/or Digital Pack, and manipulatives. Each student will need their own Student Workbook and Tests booklet.
Student Packs include:
- Student Workbook
- Tests booklet
Example 1: You are in a household with two students and are just starting with the Math-U-See Curriculum. Both students are at the Gamma level. You have purchased a Gamma Universal Set. In addition to your Gamma Universal Set, you will need a Gamma Student Pack for your second student.
Example 2: There are multiple students in your household. You have a student who is ready for Gamma. You’ve had two students that have already completed Gamma and still have your instruction materials and manipulatives. You would need a Gamma Student Pack.
