How to Use Early Access

Our Early Access platform gives you a first look at the new Demme Learning experience at new.demmelearning.com. This refreshed layout includes the same trusted content you’re familiar with, now with improved navigation, better mobile usability, and a cleaner design.

If you’re a homeschool instructor or parent using the Early Access experience, this guide will help you understand the key areas of your dashboard and how to navigate them. Homeschool instructors or parents and their associated student accounts will be able to access the platform.

Early Access is not available for school / co-op or teacher accounts and their associated students.

Note: You will still have the option to use the original Digital Toolbox at any time. Look for the banner at the top of any page that says “Prefer the old look?” and click “Switch view” to return to the classic experience.

Video Tour

This tour video will walk you through using Early Access on a desktop or laptop computer.

Initial View: Online Resources

Before signing in to your account, here’s where you’ll land first, the Online Resources page. The Online Resources section is a product discovery and preview area that allows you to browse all available digital courses.

How It Works

Each course is displayed as a card showing:

  • The course name and level (e.g., Primer, Alpha, AIM: Addition and Subtraction)
  • Course type (such as Full Year, Supplementary, or Intervention)
  • Number of lessons included
  • Price per course
  • “In My Library” status (if already owned)

Clicking on a course tile will allow you to preview the lesson count and course type. To add a course to your account, you’ll be directed to the Demme Learning Online Store.

Categories Sidebar

Use the filter menu on the left to narrow results. You can filter by:

  • Product Lines: Math-U-See or Accelerated Individualized Mastery (AIM)
  • Subjects: Categories are expandable depending on available offerings.
  • Age Ranges: Choose from multiple ranges such as 5–8, 9–12, 13–16, or 16–18.
  • Product Types: Identify Full Academic Year Curriculum, Supplementary Curriculum, or Intervention Programs.
  • Price: Set a minimum or maximum price to fit your budget.
Sorting Options

Located in the upper right corner, you can sort course tiles by:

  • New
  • Price (High to Low or Low to High)
  • Alphabetical (A to Z or Z to A)

This makes it easy to quickly find a new product, compare by cost, or explore a specific program sequence.

Tip: Think of this area like a course catalog. It’s a helpful way to browse all your digital options before deciding what to purchase or assign.

Access: Create Account or Sign in

To access your Instructor Dashboard, create an account or sign in, which you will find in the upper right corner of the screen.

Instructor Dashboard

Once logged in, head over to your Instructor Dashboard, which provides access to the tools and resources you need to manage your students’ learning experience. Your dashboard is designed for managing content you already own.

1. Overview Tab

The Overview tab provides quick access to the most-used areas of your Early Access dashboard. This screen is designed to help you jump into lessons, manage students, use interactive tools, and find support resources with just a few clicks.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find:

  • Library: Explore lesson videos and printable materials for the levels and programs available to you. Each lesson contains a collection of resources designed to support your teaching and your student’s progress.
  • Students: Create and manage student accounts, assign Online Instruction with Video, and review which courses each student is using.
  • Digital Tools: Access interactive tools such as the Virtual Manipulatives, Worksheet Generator, and graph paper. These tools are available across multiple levels.
  • Online Resources: Browse and download helpful PDFs, printable activities, and enrichment materials that supplement your core instruction.
  • Blog: Stay informed with updates, instructional tips, and news from Demme Learning. New posts appear here regularly to support your teaching journey.
  • Store: Browse and purchase curriculum products, manipulative sets, or digital add-ons. Opens in a new tab to the official Demme Learning store.
  • Support: Quickly access help articles, how-to guides, and FAQs. Great for troubleshooting, step-by-step walkthroughs, and finding answers quickly.

Tip: The Overview tab is a great launch point. Think of it like a homepage with shortcuts to your teaching tools, account setup, and help resources, all in one convenient place.

2. Library Tab

The Library is where you access the core instructional content for your curriculum. It displays all courses currently available to you, including both full-year and supplemental programs.

Each course appears as a colored tile showing the course title (e.g., Primer, Alpha, Beta), the course type, and the total number of lessons.

Clicking into any course tile will open up a structured lesson list with videos, PDFs, resources, and digital tools tied to that course.

Filter Options (Categories Dropdown)

Use the Categories filter in the top right to narrow down what you see. This is especially helpful if your account includes multiple programs.

You can filter by:

  • Course Status: In Progress or Completed
  • Product Lines: Math-U-See or Accelerated Individualized Mastery (AIM)
  • Subjects: This section may expand in the future to allow for additional subject filters.
  • Product Types: Full Academic Year Curriculums, Supplementary Curriculums, and Intervention Programs

These filters allow you to quickly find the content you need based on what you’re using or exploring.

Sort By Options

Next to the Categories filter, use the Sort by menu to change how your course tiles are arranged. You can sort alphabetically or by other predefined views.

Tip: The Library is your central hub for teaching content. Whether you’re jumping into a new lesson, printing handouts, or previewing a program, this is where you’ll begin most of your instructional journey.

3. Students Tab

The Students tab allows you to manage all of your student accounts in one place. This is where you can add new students, view existing ones, and assign instructional content to each learner.

When you click into the Students tab, you’ll see a searchable list of your students. Each student is listed by name (or username), with quick-access tools below their name for managing their account.

Key Actions Available

  • Add Student
    • Click the Add Student button to create a new account.
    • You’ll be prompted to enter a username, password, optional email, and grade.
    • For full instructions, see: How do I create a student account? ›
  • Assign Course
  • Student Settings: Select Student Settings to update the student’s email address, password, or grade level at any time.

Notes

  • Students will only see content for courses you assign to them.
  • You can manage multiple students from one instructor account.
  • The search bar allows you to quickly filter students by name or username.

Tip: The Students tab acts as your class roster. It keeps everything organized so you can manage multiple learners with ease. You’ll be able to add, update, assign, and guide each student without jumping between different sections.

4. Digital Tools Tab

The Digital Tools tab gives you quick access to supplemental resources designed to enhance instruction, reinforce concepts, and improve student engagement. These tools are available to all users and do not require course assignment.

Each tool listed here can be expanded to reveal access buttons, descriptions, and related help resources.

Available Tools

  • Virtual Manipulatives: Access interactive versions of the Math-U-See block system, fraction overlays, and algebra/decimal inserts. These manipulatives can be used to model counting, operations, decimals, integers, and expressions from Primer through Algebra 1. Learn more about the Virtual Manipulatives here.

  • Worksheet Generator: Create custom supplemental practice worksheets for Alpha through Pre-Algebra and both AIM programs. Choose the lesson and number of problems, then format the layout based on your needs. Learn more about the Worksheet Generator here.

  • Online Drill Tool: Build fact fluency through timed drills. Students can practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division with instant feedback and automatic score tracking.

  • Errors/Corrections (Errata Search): Search for known corrections in Math-U-See print or digital materials. This database helps ensure your lesson guides and student workbooks are up to date with the latest content revisions.

Tip: The Digital Tools tab functions like your utility drawer. It’s always available, whether you’re prepping a lesson or need to provide targeted practice for a student.

Online Resources

Course Pages

Each course in the Early Access platform (such as Alpha, Beta, or AIM: Addition and Subtraction) features its own dedicated page. These pages are designed to provide an overview of the course, explain what’s included, and offer a sample experience for prospective users.

When you select a course from either the Library or Online Resources section, you’ll be taken to its Course Page, which includes three tabs: Course, Information, and Sample.

Course Tab

This is the first tab you’ll see after selecting a course. It displays:

  • Your access status (e.g., In Library, Full Access)
  • All available course content, including unit and lesson titles
  • Links to lesson videos, worksheets, solutions, and instructional materials (if you have access)

This tab functions as your primary access point for teaching the course if it’s already in your library. You’ll click directly into units and lessons from here.

Information Tab

The Information tab gives an overview of the course structure and intended audience. It typically includes:

  • A summary of what the course teaches (e.g., single-digit addition and subtraction in Alpha)
  • A list of recommended or required items:
    • Online Instruction with Video
    • Student Workbook
    • Tests Booklet
    • Manipulatives

You’ll also find:

  • A call-to-action to shop or purchase the full course set
  • A brief overview of what “Online Instruction with Video” includes
  • Background on the course developer
  • A short introduction to the Math-U-See program philosophy

This tab is useful for understanding the course’s purpose and what’s needed to complete it successfully.

Sample Tab

The Sample tab allows users to preview a lesson before committing to purchase or full access. It includes:

  • A link to Workbook Pages for printing a sample from the Student Workbook
  • An interactive video area where users can:
    • View the lesson instruction pages
    • Watch the lesson video
    • Check the lesson solutions

This sample typically features one representative lesson (e.g., Lesson 9 for Alpha) and is meant to provide a hands-on preview of how the full course works.

Tip: The Course Pages act like a demo room and control panel in one. Whether you’re previewing a course, reviewing what’s included, or jumping into lessons you already own, these tabs help you navigate and decide with confidence.

Account Menu and Settings

In the upper right corner of your Early Access dashboard, you’ll see your account name and role (e.g., “Instructor Account”). Clicking this opens a dropdown menu with several key options for managing your personal settings. This dropdown is your go-to location for basic account management tasks and quick-start help.

Account Dropdown Options

  • Change My Password: Opens a prompt to update the password associated with your Demme Learning account.
  • Using Your Account: Brings you to a helpful overview section with:
    • A Walkthrough Video for navigating the platform
    • A list of Support Center Articles related to account setup, access, and common questions
  • Sign Out: Logs you out of your account and returns you to the login page.

Tip: If you’re new to the platform or want a refresher, the “Using Your Account” section is a great place to start. It pairs visual walkthroughs with links to articles that explain common tasks like creating student accounts, assigning content, and accessing course materials.

Feedback

On every page in Early Access, you’ll see a teal Feedback tab along the center-right edge of your screen.

This button opens a feedback form powered by Usersnap, giving you a quick and easy way to share your experience using the platform.

Whether you’re loving the content or encountering something that could be improved, your feedback helps us make the Early Access experience even better.

How It Works
  1. Choose a Rating: Select from five emoji-style faces to rate your experience—from very dissatisfied to delighted.
  1. Optional Comments and Email: After selecting a rating, you’ll be prompted to:
    • Enter a comment (e.g., what you liked or what didn’t work)
    • Provide your email if you’d like a follow-up
  1. Submit Feedback: Click Submit to send your input directly to our team. You’ll see a confirmation message once it’s received.

Tip: Every piece of feedback is reviewed by our team. Whether it’s praise, a bug report, or a suggestion, your input helps shape future updates and ensures a smoother experience for all users.
