It is difficult for my student to stop at 10 minutes, or the timer is causing stress.

Instructors are vital in guiding students toward success. Highlight the importance of effort, not time itself. Explain to your students that ten-minute timed segments are used to maximize their focus. They can think of it like a sprint—short bursts of intense energy often yield the best results.

While this focused approach is beneficial, remember that timers can sometimes create anxiety. If this is the case, conceal their use and reassure your student by saying that you will guide them through their tasks, indicating when to start and stop.
