How do Billing Cycles and Renewals Work?

To give you maximum flexibility in your educational journey, our platform offers two types of billing cycles. Whether you prefer to pay as you go or commit to a full year, here is how our renewals and payment cycles function.

Choosing Your Billing Cycle

When you sign up for a paid Individual subscription tier (Essential, Expanded, or Premium), you can choose between two frequencies:

  • Monthly: Your subscription will automatically renew on the same day each month. This is a great option for short-term projects or testing out a new curriculum.
  • Annual: Your subscription will renew once a year on your anniversary date. Annual plans offer the best value and include a 14-day free trial for new subscribers, allowing you to explore the platform before your first payment is processed.

Group subscriptions are billed annually.

Automatic Renewals

To ensure your students never lose access to their lessons in the middle of a school week, all subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. You’ll receive a billing reminder before your renewal date.

  • Payment Method: Your saved credit card will be charged at the start of each new billing period.
  • Notification: You can view your upcoming renewal date at any time in the Manage Subscription section of your account.

Failed Payments and Grace Periods

If a renewal payment fails (for example, if a credit card has expired), our system will attempt to notify you via email so you can update your information.

  • Status Changes: If a payment remains outstanding, your subscription status may change to “Past Due” or “expired.”
  • Access Rules: While your student data and group organization remain saved in our system, digital course access will be temporarily locked until a new subscription is purchased.

Changes to Your Cycle

If you wish to switch from a monthly to an annual plan (or vice versa), you can do so through your account settings.

  • Moving to Annual: Upgrading from monthly to annual billing typically takes effect immediately, with your monthly payment credited toward your new annual total.
  • Moving to Monthly: If you switch from an annual to a monthly plan, the change will take effect at the end of your current annual term.
