What Happens When a Subscription Expires?

At Demme Learning, we know that consistency is key to student success. If your Group or Individual Subscription expires or becomes inactive, we prioritize keeping your data safe while managing digital access according to your current plan status.

The “Pending Expiry” Period

If you choose to cancel your subscription, your account will enter a Pending Expiry status.

  • Continued Access: You and your students will retain full access to all courses, videos, and digital resources until the final day of your current paid billing cycle.
  • Reactivation: During this period, you can reactivate your subscription at any time with a single click in your billing settings to prevent any interruption.

Access After the Expiration Date

Once the expiration date passes and the subscription officially ends, the following changes occur:

  • Digital Content is Locked: Students and instructors will no longer be able to view lesson videos, or online course materials associated with courses that have been redeemed with course credits.
  • Seat and Credit Limits: Your ability to invite instructors or add new levels to your Library will be suspended.
  • Solutions Access: Access to online solutions and instructor resources associated with the subscription will be disabled.

What Happens to Your Data?

  • Student Progress: All student records, including completed lessons and time-stamped progress, remain securely saved in our system for 30 days.
  • Group Organization: Your group name, list of students, and roster of instructors are preserved.
  • Future Resumption: If you decide to purchase a new subscription later, your data will be waiting for you. Once a valid subscription is linked to the group again, your students can pick up exactly where they left off.

Failed Renewals

To ensure your students never lose access to their lessons, it is important to keep your payment information up to date. If a subscription renewal invoice becomes ‘past due’ because of a failed payment (such as an expired card or missing billing info), our system will send you a series of email notifications asking you to update your billing information.

We offer a grace period to allow you to update your billing details. During this window, our system may make additional attempts to process the charge using your billing information.

  • If the payment is successful during this time your subscription access will be restored.
  • If billing information is not updated and a successful charge cannot be made during this grace period, your subscription will expire.

If your subscription expires, you must either remove student accounts and/or course credits to meet the requirements of a free account, or sign up and purchase for a new subscription plan to regain full access to your student accounts and/or course credits.
