How Do I Add Additional Instructors to a Group?

If you are a Group Owner (Administrator), you can invite additional instructors to your group to help manage the teaching workload. This is helpful for schools or classroom environments with multiple instructors. 

1. Check Your Subscription Capacity

Before inviting an additional instructor, ensure your subscription plan includes an available Instructor Seat.

  • Group Essential, Group Expanded, and Group Premium Subscriptions: Only include a set number of instructor seats.
  • Add-Ons: If you have used all your included seats, you can purchase an “Additional Instructor Account” add-on in your Manage Subscriptions settings.

2. Send an Invitation

To add an instructor to your group:

  • Log in as an Instructor/Owner at new.demmelearning.com.
  • Navigate to Groups in the left-hand sidebar and select your Group Name.
  • Click the Instructors tab.
  • Select Invite an Instructor.
  • Enter the instructor’s email address and click Send Invite.

3. What the Instructor Needs to Do

The person you invited will receive an email from Demme Learning. To join your group, they must:

  • Open the email and click the invitation link.
  • Sign In or Sign Up: They must use the exact email address the invitation was sent to. If they don’t have an account yet, they can create a free one.

Accept: After signing in, they will see a summary of the group and a button to Confirm and Join Group.

4. Instructor Permissions

Once they have joined, your instructor can perform the following tasks:

  • Manage Students: They can add new students to the group roster.
  • Assign Content: They can assign any course currently in the Group Library to any student.
  • Track Progress: They can view student progress, watch lesson videos, and check lesson solutions.

Note for Owners: Instructors cannot access your billing information, change your subscription tier, or remove the Group Owner. Only the Group Owner has the authority to manage the account’s financial and administrative aspects. Courses can only be assigned to the Group Library by the Group Owner. 

Need to remove an instructor? Go to the Instructors tab in your Group Management dashboard, find their name, and select the option to remove them from the group. This will immediately free up an instructor seat for your subscription.
